Mad Hope Hits the Presses!
One of the wonderful things (of many wonderful things) about publishing with Coach House is that I’ve had the chance to be involved in nearly every aspect of the book-creating process. On Monday I went with my husband Charles and my two children to see my book being printed. My oldest (3 1/2) seemed more interested in the fish tank (she christened the three fish Flower, Flower and Marta) than the book, and the racket of the machines put the baby (6 months) into a near catatonic state, but I think they really got it. I really got it anyway — how could I not? There was my ‘book’ becoming a BOOK before my very eyes. Charles took some pictures.

Funny, but I bet most authors never get to see that moment. The pictures are really cool. I especially like the blue rubber band keeping the whole operation running. Congrats! Again love the pics.
